Sometimes the UK pull out a great movie
and in this case "Creep" is one of them. It starts off good, then goes
a tad flat as it introduces the main character (all of ten minutes)
then it hits the ground running and keeps the pace.
Kate is at a
party. Many people know her, she's having a good time, smoking some
Mary-Jane and then she's off to see George Clooney(sp?) as she knows
where he is staying and she wants more than an autograph. (NEVER FEAR
GEORGE IS NOT IN THIS MOVIE. YOUR EYES ARE SAFE!)
Outside, she
tries to catch a cab but it seems pointless and off she goes to the
subway. A little pissed and stoned, she nods off and wakes up after the
last train has been and gone.
The subway is empty...or is it?
This
movie is merciless, vicious and has some lovely gore shots, but what I
liked most of all was the build up. As in the title, this movie creeps
up on you and at only 85 minutes this 2005 movie has it all.
It's
just a shame that the lead wasn't a very good actress, the rest of the
cast was stunning. It is the supporting actors (good and bad) that pull
you into this movie.
Kate wakes up at the station and everything
is deserted. She rushes up to the entrance to find it locked up. Then
from nowhere she hears a train. But the last train has already left.
At the platform the train opens it's doors and she jumps in the second carriage. As the doors close, another figure boards.
The
train pulls away from the station. Almost at the next station (you see
the light at the end of the tunnel) the train stops. Kate rushes to the
driver's door and bangs on it. "What's wrong" "why have you stopped?"
-- -- and then the lights go out....
