It includes professionals among non-professionals and they all interact on a discussion board very much like this one.
The interesting thing with this org is that they are THERE for all horror freaks, me included. I am a member and love it there. Shit, I'm there more than here. That can't be good. LOL. The creators have constructed a site unlike any other org I have come across in many years.
There are a lot of sites out there that offer their members a host of information, yet I have never found a place I truly liked. The HWA comes to mind at first but after a year I realized what a waste of time they are.
IOHP is completely different. They have so MANY things for writers and non writers alike. Even metal bands are welcome if they love horror. There is a yearly fee of $5 for non-pro and $10 for pro. And everyone I have met there is friendly and interested in horror. Books, movies, music, interviews with professionals in the field etc plus there's a host of information for writers incl but not limited to: agents | markets | writing classes | chats | pro interviews with transcript | and so much more, more than I can list. It's one of the largest boards I have ever seen.

Enjoy and join. You'll love it there. But you should interact as it is more fun that way.
